A Story About Faith, Family and Love
Kim and Myles was referred to me from a previous couple whose wedding I photographed 2.5 years ago for one of the nation's best wedding photography studios in the industry, "Lin and Jirsa Photography", (www.linandjirsa.com) of Orange County, California as Lead Associate Photographer. Kim was also a bridesmaid for the same wedding couple which was a plus!
Originally scheduled for July 2019, Kim and Myles booked with me in December 2018 for a combined wedding photography and cinematography package. Not long after, Kim contacted me early February in an emergency to let me know her church wedding ceremony was moved 4 months in advance as her mom’s health was reported critical. Initially, I was the only person available on my team to cover the rescheduled church ceremony at last minute notice. Thankfully, my second shooter, Christine, became available to help cover it with me!
Though Kim and Myles requested a maximum of 1.5 hours coverage time for the church ceremony only, Christine and I decided to cover additional hours starting with Kim's mom's pre-ceremony preparation at their home and ending with their mini-reception held at the church auditorium. We felt retelling the story of the day would have been incomplete with only 1.5 hours of coverage time for both photo and cinema. With our Run-and-Gun shooting style and 4 cameras (1 on tripod behind altar, 1 on tripod on upstairs balcony, 1 camera for each of us on video monopods) and extensive knowledge and experience with weddings, we were able to achieve both successfully!
Many might think, Christine and I, were CRAZY for attempting to do both photo and cinema with only 2 shooters. And they may be right... because we are definitely CRAZY-PASSIONATE about the love we have for our craft and will take any challenge that arises from it and do it well!
This wedding was UNIQUE for 2 DISTINCT REASONS:
- This was a DUAL COUPLE CATHOLIC WEDDING (Kim’s brother was also engaged)
- We PHOTOGRAPHED and FILMED AT THE SAME TIME with only TWO SHOOTERS (Note: Normally a 5-6 person team required for a photo/cinema combined package)
